Meet the Mentors

We are pleased to introduce Fateh Ali, the co-founder, and CEO of CollabDeen, who is also a productivity expert at using new technologies. His vision is to combine humans and computers to solve large-scale problems, which can't be solved alone, seamlessly and all at one touch using new technologies.

We are pleased to introduce Bhargav Sriganesh who completed his undergraduate degree in International Politics at King’s College London, and postgraduate studies in Political Science and Political Economy at the London School of Economics. He is currently working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Singapore). As a person who had been mentored previously, Bhargav strongly believes in paying it forward.

Meet Mohamed Jameel, a keen interest in the field of engineering motivated him to pursue a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from NTU and he is now an electrical field service engineer working in ABB Pte Ltd. Jameel knows from personal experience that growing up in an environment without help is especially difficult and he hopes to help youths who are in the same shoes as him once by mentoring them.
Jameel is also very passionate about photography and has have photographed a wide range of events. He also loves and has a great love for riding.

Meet Benazir Farvin a graduate from ACS(I) IB Diploma and SMU Bachelor of Business Management. She is a technology enthusiast who has spent 5 years sharing information with Fortune 500 companies on the latest developments in technologies such as blockchain, AI, autonomous robots and more. She is also extremely passionate about client relationship development and helping businesses make a positive impact on society and humanity through the use of technology.
Fun Fact: When she is not at her desk or in a meeting room, she must be playing foosball!

Meet Sundar Plavenderraj, a Mechanical Engineer at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a science-led global pharmaceutical company. He has completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (Design Specialization) at Nanyang Technological University and postgraduate studies in Industrial Engineering (Project Management Specialization) at National University of Singapore.
As president of NTU TLS Alumni Association, Sundar led Project ஃ 2019. This was TLSAA’s pioneer overseas community involvement programme (OCIP) and it received Mediacorp's 'Tamil Chudar Innovation Awards'. Sundar is also a recipient of NTU 'Nanyang Alumni Service Award' and hopes to contribute to the community and foster the spirit of volunteering in youths.

Meet Sofia Barvin who had completed her undergraduate degree in Pharmacy at National University of Singapore and is currently working as a Senior Pharmacist at Watsons.
Sofia recalls that her favourite memory of a volunteering experience was during her Overseas CIP trip to Sri Lanka where she taught English to school kids in Batticaloa. The kids’ easy going nature despite the adversities they had faced in their life and their parents’ hospitality and appreciation for her team's volunteer work was an unforgettable memory for her.

Meet Mohammad Shah, he graduated from SMU with Bachelors of Social Sciences (double major in Political science and sociology) and is the Vice President of Data Zoo, an global Fintech company specialising in Digital Identity Verification and Anti Money Laundering (AML) solution.
However, it took him great stride and resilience to get here as he was a “late bloomer”. Despite struggling in his early phase of education, Shah’s breakthrough came during his time in Millennia Institute. He was greatly motivated by his form teacher who believed in his capabilities and inspired him with the adage “attitude more than aptitude” which still resonates with him today. Mohammad was also a mentee under Sinda’s first ever mentorship program and he has mentored students as a part of NUS/SMU/NTU collaborative efforts.
Fun Fact: He is a huge film buff and an aspiring filmmaker who has directed two documentaries while he was studying in SMU.

Meet Abu Bakar Sidiq Bin Aslam, he graduated with degree in Environmental Occupational Health and Safety from University of Newcastle. An alumnus of ITE College East and Singapore Polytechnic, Sidiq realised his potential during his ITE days and upgraded himself. He is now working in ExxonMobil Chemicals and has been with the company for 8 years.
Sidiq has been volunteering with Malay Youth Literary Association (4PM) for about 16 years and is currently helming the role of Honorary Treasurer. He has engaged and mentored several youths over his many years of volunteering at 4PM and he sincerely hopes to help youths achieve greater heights.

Meet Dr Hamid Razak is an Associate Consultant and an ex-Chief Resident in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery at Singapore Health Services (SingHealth). He is also an Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. Having been awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Postgraduate Scholarship in 2019, Dr Hamid is pursuing a doctorate at Imperial College London under the auspices of the National Medical Research Council Research Training Fellowship. Having benefitted from various mentors, Dr Hamid hopes he can contribute to the moulding of the next generation of youth leaders in our community.
Oh, and he is also the Project Head of IMAN!

Meet Ashraf Yoonus, a diplomat covering political affairs at the Singapore Embassy in Turkey. Previously, he was part of the Singapore drafting team for the ASEAN 2025 document.
An RI boy and NUS alumnus, Ashraf is a History graduate and was part of the NUS University Scholars Programme (USP). After graduation, he worked as an assistant curator with the National Heritage Board before joining Mangham Gaxiola, an advertising agency, to deepen his experience in the private sector.
Ashraf hopes that the mentoring relationships he forges under IMAN will be a shared opportunity for learning and growth.

Meet Mohamed Saddam, he graduated with a Bachelors of Accoutancy from NTU and Dip in Business Admin from Singapore Polytechnic. He has experience in Internal Audit and is currently part of the Payments industry.
Although most of his career path was a result of accident or luck, Saddam strongly believes that it is up to every individual to make the best out of it. He is also reflective and looks for ways to evolve.
Saddan is equipped with strong aviation knowledge and is an avid follower of Technology, Innovations, Science and Politics. He looks forward to sharing these interests with his mentees.

Meet Zurah Osman, who is a double degree holder in Bachelor of Science Nursing from Curtin University and Bachelor of Science Psychology Major from University of Southern Queensland. Zurah is a Nurse Clinician/Manager with many years of experience and she is a dedicated volunteer with the Amputee Support Group as well.
Zurah recalls her fruitful experience during HMDP in John Hopskins Hospital, USA where she worked at the Orthopedic Ward and Observation of Adult Reconstruction Surgeries and Spinal Surgeries. She was also involved in the rehabilitation of patients post surgery and helped to ease them back into the community. Zurah looks forward to sharing her experience and knowledge in the field through this mentorship programme.

Meet Tehreem, an educator who has been teaching for four years and enjoys doing what she does. Tehreem believes that education is a gift that she hopes every child receives, regardless of their background or starting point. She takes pride and joy in playing a part in moulding the next generation of Singapore.
Tehreem studied Communications and New Media in the National University of Singapore and did her Post Graduate Diploma in Education at the National Institute of Education. She is also a volunteer storyteller at the National Library Board and enjoys reading to young children.

Meet Nasrin Shah Beevi, he is an experienced counselor with a demonstrated history of working with children and families in the non-profit organization sector. She is skilled in Couple work, Anger Management, Social Skills, Public Speaking, Group Work Support, Research and Teaching, Curriculum and Content developer. She graduated from Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) with a Bachelors Degree with Merit in Counselling and is pursuing her Masters in Counselling (Advanced) at Swinburne University of Technology.
Nasrin also loves to read, exercise, travel and make handicraft in her free time.

Meet Zeeshan Afzal, he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Energy Systems Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). He specialises in hardware product development (automotive products) and has 9 years of experience in the field of vehicle research & development while working for Daimler, Cummins and Harley-Davidson. He is also proficient in carrying out Worldwide Emission Certification(s) for internal combustion engines and electric vehicles and drives many Vehicle R&D projects from conceptualization to mass production phase.
Zeeshan keeps himself updated on happenings in the hardware startup ecosystem in Asia Pacific and looks forward to guiding young engineers on their career path and product development methodologies.

Meet Mr SM Syed Ali, he is currently a Regional Director – Learning & Development in Purchasing and Supply Association Singapore (PASAS). He facilitates Training & Consultation related work for many organisations including SPRINGS Singapore and Singapore Logistics Academy. Prior to coordinating these aforesaid organizations, he has held key management positions in MNCs from the Manufacturing industry for about 32 years.
Mr Syed is also an Active Grass Root Community Leader serving in various voluntary organizations including his role as a Mentor for Yellow Ribbon Project, First Aider, and CPR for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). His heart work was duly recognised when he received the 20 years Appreciation Award from the Singapore Prime Minister Office (PMO) in August 2019.

Meet Farah Shah, a senior therapist of children with special needs with 6 years of experience in the field. Farah graduated with a Diploma in Psychology from Singapore Polytechnic and is currently pursuing a Degree in Psychology with Business from SUSS.
Farah is also keen in Educational Technology and is currently developing a startup with her friend to share her knowledge and passion for EdTech with others. She is eager to work with youths and looks forward to being a part of this meaningful mentorship programme.

Meet Dr Tousif Kabir, he obtained his Master of Medicine (Surgery) from NUS and after completing his surgical specialist training in Singapore, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2017.
Dr Tousif is a Consultant in the Department of General Surgery, Sengkang General Hospital. He is actively involved in education, and currently holds the appointments of Clinical Teacher and Adjunct Lecturer at Lee Kong Chian (LKC) School of Medicine and Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, among others. Dr Tousif also has over 20 publications to his name at the time of writing.
Having benefited from informal mentoring through his journey thus far, he is keen to help young people achieve their potential through a formal mentorship program, such as Project IMAN.

Meet Walid Jumblatt Abdullah, he received his PhD under a Joint Degree Program between National University of Singapore (NUS) and King's College, London. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University’s Public Policy and Global Affairs Program. He works on state-Islam relations, and political parties and elections, with particular focus on Singapore and Malaysia. He has published articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals such as International Political Science Review, Australian Journal of International Affairs, Journal of Church and State, among others.
Walid is also a founder of the Aspire and Achieve through Mentorship program which mentors Madrasah Aljunied students.

Meet Mr Muhammad Shafizan Bin Saikh Abdul Kader, he has a Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management and has a wealth of experience in the events industry which inspired him to start up his own business Fun Activities Pte Ltd which specialises in outdoor education.
He is also one of the founders of Ourpasar Essentials SG which is a well-established online grocery store. Shafi is an experienced and tenacious entrepreneur who turns every challenge into a success and hopes to share his experience with his mentee through IMAN.

Meet Basir Amir, he is a loyal believer in striving for your passion and pursuit of excellence. After graduating with a Master of Architecture with distinction, Basir carved his work expertise with distinguished architectural practices in Singapore and overseas. In this 10 year journey, he has won and has been a part of award-winning projects and competitions.

Meet Nasirah Banu, she is a senior wealth manager with Great Eastern Financial Advisers subsidiary of OCBC. Her entrepreneurial skills are shown in the different businesses she has established over time since her university days in NTU stemming from her minor in Bioentrepreneurship Programme in NTU while studying Biological Sciences. She got her Masters in International Public Healthcare.
She has business operations in Australia, India, Japan and Singapore. And she has acquired a global clientele in her financial advisory journey.
She is looking forward to teaching and collaborating with individuals and improving their financial literacy, which is a crucial knowledge not taught in schools.

Meet Dr Muntasir Mannan Choudhury, he is an alumnus of the United World College of the Atlantic where he gradually came out from the shell of a shy and reclusive person to what he is today. Dr Muntasir is a Consultant with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Sengkang General Hospital and the department of Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at Singapore General Hospital in Singapore.
He has received multiple awards in patient care and is a loved and an extremely popular face amongst his patients. He is also an avid educator, involved in the education of undergraduate students from DUKE- NUS, YLL School of medicine in Singapore.
